Buddy Hours
ADHD body doubling refers to the technique of working on challenging tasks alongside another person who acts as a supportive partner, or "body double". The purpose of the technique is to increase concentration, motivation, and productivity in individuals with ADHD. The body double helps the person with ADHD stay focused on the task at hand, reducing distractions and increasing their sense of accountability. This approach has been found to be particularly helpful for individuals with ADHD who struggle with procrastination, lack of motivation, and difficulty concentrating on tasks.
Buddy Hours can be once or twice a week via video chat and are typically between 30 - 60 minutes per session.
During this time, clients often prioritize their most urgent tasks that may have been neglected. They may also use this opportunity to catch up on deadlines or make progress on long-term projects. Additionally, some clients may use this time to complete personal tasks such as emails, phone calls, or appointments.
Some of the most common tasks include:
- Calendar management and weekly planning.
- Creating reminders and to-do lists for the upcoming week.
- Reading and filing unread emails.
- Setting appointments
Overall, the time is utilized to enhance productivity and achieve their goals.
